DORCAS: A Ministry to the Needy
Acts 9:36 states "In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which, when translated, is Dorcas), who was always doing good and helping the poor".
El Shaddai helps the poor and needy in our city by reaching out to meet their physical and spiritual needs. On the first and third Shabbat of every month, the Dorcas Program opens its doors to the community for free clothing and food. We see this as part of the Torah and Brit Chadashah mandate to care for the stranger, widow, and poor in our cities. There is also a food closet which is open to the public during office hours for those in need. For more information please see Pastor and Elder Huey Brown.
